The Eden School remains steadfast in its commitment to the health, safety, and well-being of our students, staff, and wider community. Over the past few days, we have observed a significant increase in cases of diarrhoea and vomiting among our school population.

Following consultation with public health authorities and in adherence to the UK Health Security Agency’s (UKHSA) guidelines, we have taken the difficult decision to temporarily close the school to mitigate the spread of illness.
Temporary School Closure Details:
Closure Period: Wednesday, 27th November to Friday, 29th November 2024
Reopening Date: Monday, 2nd December 2024

Preventive Measures: A comprehensive deep-cleaning of the school premises will be undertaken during the closure to ensure a safe and hygienic environment for the return of students and staff. This decision underscores our dedication to prioritising the well-being of our students and staff while ensuring the highest standards of health and safety are maintained. While this temporary closure may cause short-term inconvenience, it reflects our proactive approach to safeguarding the health of everyone at The Eden School.

Health and Safety Guidance:
We kindly request that parents and carers monitor their children closely for symptoms such as diarrhoea, vomiting, nausea, or abdominal discomfort. In line with public health recommendations: Students and staff who experience symptoms should remain at home and only return to school after being symptom-free for at least 48 hours.
Encourage regular handwashing with soap and water, as this is the most effective way to reduce the spread of infection.
